A couple of paddles out in the canoe this week, both on Loch Beinn a'Mheadhoin in Glen Affric.

The first, on Monday, was cut short by a "shower" only to be described as "heavy and prolonged", which left us looking as if we'd been swimming rather than canoeing.

The amount of recent rain and snow melt had raised the water level somewhat.

The second, on Friday, was a gentle paddle on a flat calm loch with great views. We stuck mostly to the north east end of the loch around the islands, lagoons and up to the dam.
