We set off from The Bone Caves car park between Elphin and Inchnadamph (A837, NC253179) and followed the excellent path along Allt nan Uamh, past waterfalls and springs, beneath the crags and cliffs of the Assynt limestone.

Above the spring, the river ran dry, and we crossed the stream bed to the path on the south side of the glen. The path led us gently up to the caves in the cliffs...
