Canoe on Loch Quoich

We (he) might not be allowed to climb any hills yet - but a gentle paddle around Loch Quoich sounds good...

Loch Quoich - south west from NG994035

We parked up near a slipway, just as the Kinloch Hourn road slips north west, away from the loch (NG994035), and paddled south initially, to explore the western end of the loch.

Loch Quoich and Spidean Mialach

It was a mild and bright and the water was smooth and clear, there was still plenty of snow on the higher hills. We had climbed a couple of the Munro's on the northern shore last June, Spidean Mialach and Gleouraich - a day of heavy showers and low cloud, so we had better views of these hills today!

We paddled around the shoreline, taking in the views, the geology and the wildlife.

Loch Quoich looking east

We had a couple of lovely lunches on pristine beaches and Rafie got his usual swims. Enjoy...
